The Little Mermaid” with music by Alan Menken, book by Doug Wright and lyrics by Howard Ashman and Glen Slater is based on the Hans Christian Anderson story and the Disney film produced by Howard Ashman and John Muskar and written and directed by John Muskar and Ron Clements. “Disney’s The Little Mermaid” was originally produced by Disney Theatrical Productions.
The Little Mermaid” is the story of a mermaid named Ariel whose biggest dream is to be able to live on land after she falls in love with a handsome prince that she rescued after he ends up in the ocean during a violent storm. Longing to become human and be with the prince, Ariel bargains with a Sea Witch and gives up her beautiful voice in exchange for human legs. The bargain is not without peril and conditions. The story unfolds as we find out if Ariel and Prince Eric will find their happily ever after. “Disney’s The Little Mermaid” is presented through special arrangement with Music Theatre International (MTI).
